Flooding Alert

We've been asked to remind you: With the approach of Hurricane Sandy, please be watchful for overflowing 'frack' ponds.

You may want to obtain bottled water (if you haven't already) in case of new contamination, or take other precautions in case containments are breached by flooding. Although DEP requires two feet of "freeboard" (between the level of contents and the rim of the holding pond), operators may not have anticipated how much water may fall or flow into their ponds in a bad storm.
